Java Perks is a free "electronic coffee card" program! Receive promotional coupons toward future visits. Upon each visit, provide us with your 7-digit number (usually your telephone number for convenience) and let us do the rest! The computer will track your purchases and generate your coupon as each Java Perks category is satisfied.

• Buy 12 leaf or iced teas and receive your 13th FREE (up to $1.95)
• Buy 12 bakery fresh items and receive your 13th FREE (up to $2.15)
• Spend $40.00 on espresso or hot and cold prepared beverages and receive your next one FREE (up to $3.35; soda, juice, Odwalla, and Frappe excluded)

Information stored within the Java Perks system is used solely to track your earned credit and bonus coupons. We request names to resolve ownership when guests sign up for numbers in use. Due to high turnover, accounts inactive for 6 months are subject to reissue.

To sign up for Java Perks, send an email to:

If you use a mail website such as Hotmail, Yahoo!, Gmail, or UIowa Webmail you'll need to login and send an email to javaperks@thejavahouse.com.

Be sure to include:

• First Name
• Last Name or Last Initial
• Seven digit number: usually a phone number for convenience, cannot start with zero.

You will receive an automated response to let you know your message arrived. Java Perks requests are processed 1-2 times per week. You will only receive another message if there is a problem or if the number you've requested is already in use.

• The most common numbers are already taken. Some examples: 555-1212, 867-5309, 123-4567, 777-7777.
• Sometimes your number will already be taken even though its your phone number. Don't be alarmed, since we don't use area codes numbers frequently overlap with other regions.

More tips!

• If you'd like to share a Java Perks number, just let us know and we'll add both names to the Perks number. Guests that share Perks numbers must also share the rewards! To distinguish points between guests, please request a second Perks number.
• Some guests may notice the name on his/her Perks number is wrong. Don't be alarmed! In early 2005 we networked Java Perks by combining each location's membership and some names overlapped. Please contact us so we may correct your Perks number's name.

Please send us an email (see 'Sign up for Java Perks') and let us know your current and requested new number. We'll contact you only if your requested new number is already in use! Your earned credit will transfer to your new number.

Your barista can print a summary of your earned credit in our cafe locations. You can also see a detailed version by sending us an email with your name and Perks number (see 'Sign up for Java Perks').
